Our partner Julie Carel was at WAICF

WAICF – World AI Cannes Festival was the finisher line of the AI marathon week and Julie Carel was happy to share thoughts about responsible AI and intellectual property with my co-panelists Richard Mollet, Edoardo Raffiotta, Nia Cross Castelly and Russ Whitman.
Julie Carel : “Here are the key takeaways from our discussions :
⚫ Copyright’s adaptability: the concept of copyright itself doesn’t need to evolve; it can adapt to new contexts like AI.
⚪ Emerging revenue-sharing models: IP content providers now know very well the value of their data for AI models training and inference. Meanwhile, AI model providers are developing techniques that require less data but of higher quality, showing more willingness to pay to acquire such data.
⚫ Transparency as the cornerstone: the AI Act has established the framework and principles of a responsible AI. The AI Office is now working on practical implementation documents. Ultimately, the effectiveness of transparency will depend on stakeholders’ willingness to implement these regulations.”
