The French Digital Service Coordinator (ARCOM) presented yesterday its draft technical reference document on age verification systems open for public consultation until May 13th, 2024.

This draft framework aims at determining the technical requirements that pornographic sites will have to implement to control the age of their users and to block their access to minors. Ultimately, the ARCOM wants to impose two-factor identification and requires that the services concerned use a so-called double anonymity system. Pornographic sites will have to ensure that the double anonymity system is accessible to at least 80% of the adult population in France.
