The European Commission released a new White Paper on Dual-Use Export Controls open for public consultation until April 30th, 2024.

The White Paper open for consultation presents short and medium-term measures proposed by the European Commission to further harmonize European export controls. Among the propositions, the Commission suggests several initiatives including the set-up of a forum for political coordination along with the publication of a recommendation in summer 2024 for an improved coordination, as well as an earlier date for the evaluation and revision of the EU Dual-Use Regulation (Regulation (UE) 2021/821) set to 2025.

On this last point, the Commission calls for the expansion of the list of goods under Annex 1 of Regulation (UE) 2021/821.
